- Abstract
Based on the existing research literature, this paper explores the impact of inbound and outbound open innovation on the resource bricolage and growth performance of enterprises with environmental dynamics as the moderating variable. Research data were obtained from 321 SMEs in China. The results show that: both inbound and outbound open innovation have a positive impact on the resource bricolage behavior and growth performance of SMEs. Resource bricolage partially mediates the impact of inbound and outbound open innovation on growth performance. Compared to inbound open innovation, outbound open innovation has a slightly larger contribution to the growth performance of SMEs. Environmental dynamism plays a positive moderating role between inbound and outbound open innovation and enterprise growth performance.
