- Abstract
With the implementation of the rural revitalization plan, rural education has risen to the top of China’s education development priorities. Rural primary schools scattered in various towns and villages have either stopped operation or merged into other primary schools as a result of the consolidation of educational resources, with only a very few rural primary schools remaining as independent legal entities. At the same time, the problems of long commutes to school, an aging teacher structure, and a lack of family education in rural areas have also emerged. In the context of resource consolidation, what next for rural primary schools and how should rural education be planned?
