- Abstract
A synthetic route from 5-(2-Oxo-hexahydro-thieno[3,4-d]imidazol-6-yl)-pentanoic acid (biotin) to 6-Pentyl-tetrahydr o-thieno [3,4-d] imidazol-2-one which have important antibacterial bioactivity was described. The whole route processed in overall 56% yield, including an esterification, a DIBAL-H reduction, a protection and a reduction.
