- Abstract
Big Data has been one of the current and future research frontiers. Data sets grow in size because they are increasingly being gathered by ubiquitous information-sensing mobile devices, aerial sensory technologies, remote sensing, software logs, cameras, microphones, radio-frequency identification readers, wireless sensor networks, and so on. Big Data has changed the way we capture and store data, including data storage device, data storage architecture, data access mechanism. Cloud computing moves the application software and databases to large data centers, where the management of the data and services may not be fully trustworthy. Storage is one of the major issues which hamper the growth of cloud. To deal with Big Data storage problems we discuss cloud storage platform based on the MapReduce for Big Data.
