- Abstract
Machine translation referred to by the abbreviation MT is a branch of computational linguistics that investigates the use of software to translate text or speech from one language to another. This study discusses the translation equivalence of Japanese to Bahasa Indonesia in the text entitled “Soushiki ni kan suru manaa”, considering the differences in linguistic typology, vocabulary, and kango. Is MT able to produce the translation equivalence of a text given in the source language to the target language? This study aims to discover the equivalence in translation by using MT. The authors will describe and show the equivalence in translation by using MT.
