- Abstract
This paper presents a method of relat-ing optimism and pessimism to multiple criteria decision analysis based on intuitionistic fuzzy sets. We develop the concepts of optimistic and pessimistic point operators to measure optimism and pessimism, respectively. Furthermore, we provide an approach to effectively capture the influences of optimism and pessimism on multiple criteria decision making. The suitability function is assessed according to the influence upon overall judgments or upon individual outcomes. Finally, we establish two algorithms to solve a multi-criteria decision making problem.
