Abstract

“Pension Song” is one song of many modern Pingxiang the local folk art forms written by Huakeng Song and composed by Renchu Tang and Huakeng Song in 2006. It combined with “Pingxiang Tea-leaf Picking Opera”, “Pingxiang Lotus Fall”, and “Pingxiang Spring Gong” and so on traditional tunes and music elements, the content of lyrics mainly persuaded modern middle aged and elderly people how to cultivate self-cultivation, how to face life with a good attitude. This song spoken the elderly people should “how to eat, how to play, how to enjoy, how to get along with the younger generation” etc with humorous local dialects. This article researches two aspects of the creating background of composition and artistic characteristics via “Pension Song” to explore aesthetic value and cultural connotation of this composition.
