Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal the relationship and contribution of adversity intelligence (X1) and students’ perceptions of understanding the teaching profession (X2) with self-confidence to become a teacher (Y). This research is an expose facto research with a descriptive correlational research design. The study sample was mandarin students, class of 2020, with a total of 70 respondents. The data collection technique used a questionnaire, the reliability (alpha Cronbach) X1, X2, and Y respectively were 0.90; 0.95; and 0.93. Data analysis used Multiple Linear Regression analysis. Results show a significant connection between X1 and X2 with Y either partially or simultaneously, and the effective contribution of X1 to Y is 30.05%. X2 to Y is 4.30%. The effect of adversity intelligence on self-confidence to become a teacher is higher than students’ perceptions of understanding the teacher’s profession.
