Abstract

A robust sliding mode control (SMC) is presented for uncertain systems with a state-delay. Based on linear matrix inequalities (LMI), a delay-independent sufficient condition is developed for the design of a stable sliding mode plane in term of virtual state feedback controller. A simple controller is derived to guarantee system trajectories starting from any initial state convergent to the sliding mode plane. A numerical example with simulation results is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the methodology.
