- Abstract
Previous research shows that peer collaboration in English writing pedagogical practice not only helps learners to sharpen their writing skills but also provides teachers with an effective teaching method. To further investigate the impact of the peer collaboration process has on students, this study combined quantitative and qualitative methods to examine the collaborative essay-writing process of 89 non-English major sophomore students who took the same course. Meanwhile, it collected and analyzed students’ personal reflections on the process of collaborative writing. The results reveal that properly supervised collaborative writing helps improve the quality of writing significantly, raise students’ confidence in writing, and create an inductive environment for second language learning.
