- Abstract
Corporate university phenomenon are not new, General Motors began the GM institute in 1927. After that corporate university growth quickly until 1900s when number corporate universities increased to 1600. Today, it is reported the 2400 corporate universities exist. Some 80% of Fortune 500 companies either already have a corporate university.Corporate University isname given to the virtual engine that acts as an umbrella, bringing together all the existing training and development units within the corporation, to ensure the effective and efficient deployment of all organizational learning initiatives as a strategic and operational enabler. Corporate University should link learning to organizationperformance. This paper present an overview landscape Corporate University in Indonesia, comparison several multinational company such as PT Telkom Indonesia, PT Pertamina, and PT PLN have implemented Corporate University, share their experience in setup the Corporate University, and how Corporate University help to energize Organization Performance.The purpose this study tries to explain contribution an understanding the concept of corporate university and to describe the reasons corporate university important to developed in Indonesia. This paper is developed the conceptual model by summarizing existing theories and comparison difference model corporate university in several multinational company.
