- Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the chemical compositions of the Trembesi (Samanea saman) plant so that its potential as ruminant feed could be found. This research is a descriptive study, The materials used in this study are young leaves, old leaves, young petioles, old petioles, fruit, seeds, and rind. The material taken from the Sukoharjo area. The material samples were proksimat analyzed. Analyzed for dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), extract eter (EE) and Ash (AOAC, 1990), neutral netergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF) and lignin (Van Soest et al, 1991). The data obtained will be presented in a table. The data obtained shows that the parts of the Trembesi plant, namely leaves, petioles, fruit, seeds and rind contain sufficient nutrients to be used as animal feed, so this research can be concluded that trembesi (Sammanea saman) can be potentially used as animal feed that supports it as an alternative feed for ruminants.
