- Abstract
Aiming at the current demand of water-saving agriculture, improving the utilization rate of agricultural irrigation water and further promoting fine irrigation, a soil moisture monitoring system based on wireless sensor network (WSN) was designed., The system combines the advantages of ZigBee's low cost, low power consumption and high reliability and the advantages of GPRS's capability of remote transmission of data. In addition, powered by solar energy, the system is easier to maintain and more reliable in use. The preliminary test has validated the rationality and practicability of the system, which is helpful to popularize water-saving agriculture and increase crop yield.
