- Abstract
Lumbar motion is one of the most widely used information to diagnose low back disorder. By using the Digitalized Video Fluoroscopy (DVF) technique, a sequence of X-ray frames can be acquired, which shows the movement of patient vertebra. But the X-ray frame sequence is usually indistinct and having extra information. These interferences may lead to problems when doctors analyze the lumbar motion. In this paper, we propose an image histogram analysis based approach to deal with interferences in the X-ray video sequence. The method also employs a particle filter to implement automatic detecting and tracking of lumbar motion.
