Abstract

Development is a necessity that brings many benefits to the community. And that indeed is the purpose of development is to provide welfare and benefits to the people and our society. As the construction Waduk Jatigede which has a very good purpose, to provide welfare to the community, especially for irrigation in several districts in West Java. However, the effect of development also does not lead to positive change, but also leads to negative influences and the other side. That's what you want to see from this research, the things that bring any positive effects and the negative effects of such developments. Who wants to be seen are the positives and negatives of the construction of Waduk Jatigede. The questions of this study are positive and negative influences what happens with the construction of Waduk Jatigede. The method used is the qualitative method by conducting interviews and observations. Data were obtained Academic Leadership Grant (ALG) Jatigede, Padjadjaran University. The results of the study provide an answer is nothing prosperous community with the construction of Waduk Jatigede with the development of new entrepreneurs who become the new rich of the more developed microfinance. But on the negative side of this development is the presence of the people who became poor for this project because it has no other skills other than farming or old profession first. In addition, many lost local wisdom both of health, religion and also places a hidden history submerged.
