Abstract

This paper explores the importance of aesthetics in design education and its impact on various aspects of the learning process. Through a comprehensive review of literature and analysis of relevant studies, the paper highlights the role of aesthetics in fostering creativity, critical thinking, effective visual communication, and cultural appreciation in design education. The research method used is a deductive research method which aims to determine the importance of aesthetics in the world of design education. The findings of this paper have significant implications for design education in which design educators are encouraged to prioritize the integration of aesthetics into the curriculum and teaching methodologies to enhance students’ creativity, critical thinking skills, and cultural understanding. The findings underscore the need for design educators to prioritize aesthetics in their teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and assessment strategies. By doing so, design education can better equip students to become proficient designers who can make meaningful contributions to the field.
