Abstract

The traditional vehicle driving cycle construction method is to use a random method to choose the cycle segments, which is lack of reliability and accuracy. In order to solve the problems of the traditional construction method, an improved methodology for developing a representative driving cycle for Beijing city was proposed in this paper. The methodology included four parts: data acquisition, kinematic sequences division, candidate segments classification and final segments selection. In the process of candidate cycle selection, we adopted a method based on the minimum characteristic parameters deviation to choose the final segments to construct driving cycle. The results indicate that this method can further improves the representativeness of the resultant driving cycle.
