- Abstract
An approximate analytical solution of Richards' equation was derived by the differential transform method (DTM) in this paper. The basic idea is that the Richards' equation can be converted to an ordinary differential equation (ODE) by introducing the Boltzmann variable. Then DTM was applied to solve the resulting ODE. In the calculations, an intermediate variable was introduced in DTM for accelerating the convergence rate. In the end, an example was presented to demonstrate the accuracy of the present solution.
