- Abstract
Horror films are one of the film genres that are in great demand by many people, one of which is children. The purpose of this study is to find out how horror films affect the personality and emotional state of the children who watch them. This research is aimed at children and adolescents in Indonesia, with an age range between 10-17 years. This research method includes quantitative descriptive, namely by using a questionnaire to the respondents. The results of the study show that children who watch horror films experience anxiety, fear, difficulty sleeping, negative thoughts, the desire to be alone, and imagining scary things to commit acts of violence, even against themselves and their parents.
