- Abstract
The sheet paper has been made with variations of addition of Alkyl Ketene Dimers (AKD) of 0, 10, 12, and 14 kg/T. The result was a paper with gramatures of ± 70 g/m2. The analysis of the paper sheet to its durability in absorbing water and penetrating the chemical solution of the mixture of NH4SCN2 2% and FeCl3.6H2O 1% has been done with the parameter cobb size and size effect. The value of cobb size on direct top and direct bottom paper with the addition of AKD 0 kg/T, 10 kg/T, 12 kg/T and 14 kg/T were 136.1 and 136.7g/m2; 17.6 and 18.4 g m2; 16.6 and 17.0 g/m2; and 14.9 and 15.2 g/m2. The paper size effect values were 0 seconds; 22.51 seconds; 25.18 seconds, and 27.01 seconds. The result shown that the more AKD was added, the smaller paper resistance in water absorption and the longer the penetration time of chemical solution through paper or paper resistance to the penetration of chemical fluids.
