- Abstract
This Article is the results of Basic Research on Independent Research Skim of the UPN Veteran East Java. This study uses an empirical research method that is socio legal research with field studies. The field / empirical study after obtaining the data is then compared with the statutory regulations to what extent the statutory regulations related to the village and the legal protection of intellectual property rights in the village community. This research is related to the village as the smallest system of government in a country. The village as the smallest government is the government closest to the people. Village communities have a variety of potential; among others; those that have been excavated and those that have not yet been excavated. One of them is the potential associated with village products that can increase the potential of the village. The problem that arises is when the village product is produced but there is no legal protection; one of which is legal protection regarding intellectual property rights. In this way; there are several village products which are then recognized by the community as other village products because it is the other village that has succeeded in marketing to wider consumers. Therefore this research takes the formulation of the problem of how the legal protection of intellectual property rights for the products of the village community so that it can become a characteristic of the village. This research focuses on villages in Sekaran Subdistrict; Lamongan Regency; East Java Province.
