- Abstract
For photocatalytic degradation of azithromycin, La doping titanium dioxide(TiO2) /active carbon(AC) composites(La-TiO2/AC) was prepared by sol-gel method and characterized by BET and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Azithromycin wastewater was treated in a photocatalytic reactor with ultraviolet lamp as light source and La-TiO2/AC as photocatalyst. The results show that the degradation rate of azithromycin reached 95.6% under the dosage of La-TiO2/AC (w(La-TiO2)=1.24%,w(La)=0.035%) at 10mg/L, pH=4 and reaction time 90 min. And degradation rate of La-TiO2/ AC photocatalyst reused 15 times also maintained above 95%. Futher experiments were done to explore the mechanism of the photocatalytic degradation process of azithromycin catalyzed by La-TiO2/AC. The results show that desosaming lazithrocmycin are the main intermediates in the detected photocatalytic process.
