- Abstract
China has witnessed several large-scale fog and haze outbursts in recent years. These phenomena can jeopardize human physical and mental health by causing respiratory diseases or depression. They also aroused extensive social discussion among all levels in the country. This paper briefly reviews the definition and causes of fog and haze, discusses the threats they pose to human health, and gives proposals on how to prevent them.
