Abstract

Human and animal bloods expecially vertebrata bloods have similar composition so it were difficult to distinguish. The aim of this study was to identify human blood from human and animal blood mixtures using cytochrome b gene that has the species-specific DNA sequence. DNA extracted from variated human and chicken bloods were amplified using human-specific cytochrome b gene primer. The result showed 10 % human blood from mixtures could be identified and DNA extracted from human bloods only could be amplified. The concentration of 0.01 ng still showed DNA band. This primer was very sensitive and specific so it useful for forensic purposes to verify human blood in a blood mixture.
