- Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to conduct a review on the normative and empirical literature and on the role of strategic communication in conducting, implementing and institutionalising the performance management system for R&D activities. The nature of manager’s role in communicating the key performance indicators (KPIs) for evaluating and measuring R&D performance and the need of appropriate strategic communication that could help to measure and manage R&D performance are all discussed in this paper. It analyses some gaps and identifies some research issues that are useful for future research
