- Abstract
This study discusses the practice of democratization in West Java and its correlation with the improvement of people's welfare. This paper also discusses the performance of government in providing public information services and how the local House of Representatives channel the society aspirations. The performance of government and House of Representatives (parliament) members are inspected in terms of transparency, accountability and equality. Using descriptive-qualitative method, this study finds that there is a technical unreadiness in reconstructing democratization in West Java. Therefore, the government and local parliaments should immediately adopt democratization efforts in a real technical method, so that it can be felt by the society, especially in terms of their welfare.
