Abstract

This economic sociology research analyzes the construction of the market value of Indonesia Traditional Medicine (ITM). The paradigm discourse of knowledge of traditional medicine practice with western medicine is still happening. Despite this, traditional medicine remains popular in the community health care system. Intersubjective assessment is used to analyze the meaning of the value of Indonesia Traditional Medicine (ITM). This research is based on digital research with a digital-grounded research approach. Digital data mining is done through data scraping techniques, while data processing analysis uses qualitative methods with Atlas.ti 24. This study found the dominance of symbolic values in assessing ITM intersubjectivity. Sentiment analysis and connectivity between narratives are part of shaping intersubjectivity assessment in the interaction process between actors in the field. Finally, the theoretical contribution of this study is to enrich the concept of intersubjectivity assessment construction in the market from the meaning model introduced by Beckert (2019). Empirically, this study provides an overview of the size of the ITM market. In addition, this research is part of efforts to advance ITM.
