- Abstract
World public awareness and compliance on tax payment obligations remain very low. Nowadays, there is a new agreement concerning Automatic Exchange of Financial Account Information. As the participant in the agreement, Indonesia is obliged to ratify the implementation of the agreement through Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (PERPPU) Number 1 of 2017 on Access to Financial Information for Tax Purposes. There will be a consequence of the existence and implementation of the PERPPU to Customer Confidentiality, particularly on the customer's trust to the bank. When the data of the customer are made available and open, the customer's trust to the bank could be reduced. Consequently, customers may withdraw their money from the bank. While it is critical to the bank to maintain the trust, but compliance is another aspect that banks must enforce. In order to find the solution, this study applied Juridical Normative approach method and focused on two elements: background and the consequences of the PERPPU Number 1 of 2017 on Access to Financial Information for Tax Purposes.
