- Abstract
The research on sepak takraw has been widely practiced. However, very little attention is given to examining parental involvement in the development of Sepak takraw. This study aims to analyze the involvement of parents as a socialization agent in the development of sepak takraw in the village of Sulahan, Bali. This study used a qualitative approach in the form of ethnography. Sources of data in this study include events, informants, and documents. Data collection techniques were conducted by observation, in-depth interviews, and document review. Informants in this study are 14 people. The data obtained were analyzed thematically. The analysis shows that parents do not socialize and do not participate in the development of sepak takraw in Sulahan Village Bali. This is because sepak takraw is considered a less popular sport, sepak takraw sport is considered a sport that has a high difficulty level, a shift to the art of dance and percussion, and family economic reasons. This article is expected to contribute to the policy-making of sepak takraw sports in Sulahan Village, Bali.
