Abstract

The goal of this research is to find out translation techniques and dominant technique used in English-Indonesian For the Sake of Sita webtoon by Haga. This research belongs to descriptive qualitative research. The instrument to collect data is documentation. For the data validity, two raters are involved to assess the data related to the technique used by the translators. The study found that there are 14 techniques of translated used. They are: Adaptation, Amplification, Borrowing, Discursive creation, Established equivalent, Generalization, Linguistic amplification, Linguistic compression, Literal translation, Modulation, Particularization, Reduction, Transposition and Variation. The dominant technique used in English-Indonesian For the Sake of Sita webtoon is literal translation which found 120 times (39%) in English-Indonesian translation.
