- Abstract
Learning motivation is one of the most important factors for achieving learning success. Learning motivation is related to aspects of physical preparation, attention, interest, skills, and self-control of the environment in learning. This motivation can be strengthened by the existence of supporting external factors. Jigsaw can shape active and productive learning attitudes and behaviors in the dynamics of study groups, while counseling services information provides cognitive understanding. With collaborative counseling services information with the jigsaw learning method, the research tried to improve students’ learning motivation. Involved by 86 students in the experimental study, the students were given a pretest to see the initial condition. After that, students were given counseling services information using the jigsaw method with the theme of aspects of learning motivation. Finally, the students were given posttest to see the development of their learning motivation, and to be compared to the previous condition. The results of the study indicated that counseling services information using the jigsaw method delivered a positive contribution in increasing the learning motivation. The high augmentation was achieved in several aspects of physical preparation, attention, and students’ skills in learning. Thus, counseling services information using the jigsaw method can be recommended for school counselors in increasing students’ learning motivation.
