- Abstract
Test the Magnetorheological Fluids (MRFs) that prepared with carbonyl iron powder as soft magnetic particles and dimethyl silicon oil as carrier fluid by Rheometer Physica MCR 301. The experimental results demonstrate that the shear stress of MRFs increases slowly with the increase of shear rate. With good magneto-rheological effects, the dependence of shear stress on the external current tends to be linear. Volume ratio has a significant impact on the shear stress of MRFs.
