- Abstract
By means of questionnaire survey, this paper attempts to explore and understand the self-consciousness of primary school students, and to study the parenting style of their fathers and the relationship between the two and their schoolwork. By means of questionnaire survey, 225 students of grade 5 and grade 6 from two primary schools in Longguang town, Guizhou province were investigated. The results show that there are significant positive and negative correlations between the father’s parenting style, self-consciousness and the academic performance of primary school students. Thus, the academic performance of primary school students can be predicted by their own self-awareness and the parenting style of their fathers. The intervention of pupils' academic improvement can be started from their self-consciousness and family upbringing.
