Exploration of the Relation Between Ethnic Tourists’ Authenticity Perception and Place Identity

- Abstract
In ethnic tourism situation, there are still many shortcomings in the research place identity. The exploration of the relationship between them is even rarer. In order to make up for this research gap, this paper chooses a representative of Xishuangbanna Dai Park, as an example of this study to explore the relationship between authenticity and place identity, it constructs a model to explore the relationship between tourism motivation, expectation, authenticity and place identity. Based on the data analysis by Smart PLS, the results show that tourism motivation and expectation have a positive effect on objective and existential authenticity, and tourism motivation has a positive effect on part of place identity. There is no significant relationship between tourism expectation and place identity, objective authenticity and existential authenticity also have a positive effect on place identity. The results of this study will make up for researchvacancies on authenticity and place identity in national tourism, expand the research areas in the field of national tourism, provide a new model for future research.
