- Abstract
The contemporary trends of ecological thoughts in the West forming in the 1960s-70s are the passive products of the increasingly serious survival crisis that human beings are being confronted with. As one of the important branches, the ecological literature commits itself to exploring the ideological and social roots of the ecological crisis so as to provide human beings with a literary way out to solve it. The cause of the ecological crisis is the western fundamental philosophy of the relationship between man and nature which differs completely from that of ancient China while the ecological literature, regarded as the main motivation of ecological thought trends, deserves to be perceived as the literary interpretation of the initiative convergence from Western Separation of Man and Nature to Chinese Unity of Nature and Man rather than an original western concept.
