- Abstract
The process of global economic integration has accelerated with the emergence of the knowledge-based economy and the information age in the twenty-first century, competition, cooperation, and exchange among nations in the political, economic, cultural, and military fields have increased and deepened, and the interdependence between nations has grown day by day. In order to keep up with the 21st century’s rapid political, economic, technological, and cultural development, countries are starting to reevaluate their educational objectives, educational philosophies, educational methodologies, and educational material. In the light of China’s reform of its basic education curriculum and teaching materials, this study examines the current state and effectiveness of foreign language education policies in primary and secondary schools there. It also looks at the key variables influencing their implementation.
