Abstract

In this paper, I focused on the author’s explanation as “the script has been modified to make it suitable for reading” (“Whispers of the Moon Preface”, 1921) about the cinematography script “Whispers of the Moon” (“Gendai” 2-1~2,1921) [1]. This paper will consider the phenomenon of many film reading materials and scripts published during the Taisho period and the connection with movie fans’ act of “reading” movies as a habit at that time.
