Abstract

This paper takes the image of “Liang Huang Repentance Picture “ as the main research object, discusses the source, remains, structure and content of this image. It reveals the relationship between the generation of the image in Xixia area and the atlas of the Central Plains. The engraving of “Liang Huang Repentance Picture “ unearthed in the northwest of Xixia, is the earliest image material depicting the content of this subject. Therefore, it is an important breakthrough to study the image formation and change of “Liang Huang Repentance Picture “. At the same time, it is of great significance to understand the development of religious art and block print in the song and Xixia dynasties.
