- Abstract
The paper introduces the concept and connotation of Scholarship of Teaching by Boyer·E and makes a literature review on the researches of the Scholarship of Teaching abroad and at home. The purposes of higher education are discussed and talents cultivation is the ultimate goal the university education should seek for. Many researches have proved that the scholarship of teaching is correlated with high-quality teaching. Therefore, it is very significant to deeply explore the practical meaning of the Scholarship of Teaching for current higher education to effectively improve the quality of higher education. Teachers are the fundamental and key elements for quality of talents cultivation so that it is specially essential to discuss how to promote their development of the scholarship of teaching. Some suggestions are discussed and offered.
