Abstract

This case describes in detail the whole process of practicing social responsibility in Ruyang County, Henan Province, which is the counterpart of Nanjing University of Science and Technology. Firstly, it introduces the policies related to rural revitalization and targeted poverty alleviation and the basic situation of Ruyang County, so as to pave the way for follow-up research and assistance; Secondly, by analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of Ruyang’s internal self-development and the opportunities and threats in the external environment, this part leads to the specific assistance work with problems in other part; In addition, it elaborates the targeted poverty alleviation measures provided by Nanjing University of Science and Technology to Ruyang County, such as technical assistance, think tank consultation and educational resources, from three aspects: improving efficiency by technology, benefiting by advices and supporting intelligence by education, so as to help Ruyang County promote rural revitalization and reproduce the process of fulfilling the social responsibility of universities; Finally, it briefly introduces the future assistance direction and work focus of Nanjing University of Science and Technology, and confirms the effectiveness of practicing the social responsibility of universities through the achievements and relevant reports. The content involved in this case presents a major model for universities to undertake social responsibility, in order to provide a valuable reference for other enterprises and institutions to practice social responsibility.
