Urbanization is the only way for the development of socialist economy with Chinese characteristics. In the process of urbanization, the conflict, loss and confusion of the value that rural migrant workers in cities experienced and the resulting complicated social problems became one of the focus of new urbanization. By using the methods of comparative study and text analysis, combined with an analysis on the spiritual course of the characters in the novel, Red as Orange, White as Silver, this paper aims at giving a reflection on the problem of the value of farmers in China’s urbanization and providing references for the scientific guidance of the value of migrant workers in the transition period.
