- Abstract
Working with children and adolescents who suffer from serious mental illness, lays is very demanding in regards of the care in the whole family. In our paper, we focused mostly on working with autistic children. Childhood autism and schizophrenia are diseases that seriously affect the lives of carers. Given the subject matter and the defined goal of research, qualitative research methods were used. Qualitative approach, namely the use of semi-structured interview, allowed us to obtain detailed description and insight into the lives of the respondents who have a child in psychiatric care.
