Abstract

With more and more works and papers on science and technology published in English, English for science and technology has developed into an important variety of modern English with its unique characteristics that contribute to the style of science and technology materials. The paper explores the characteristics of EST through exemplification at the different language levels, with the aim of arousing an awareness of such characteristics among ES workers for better scientific and technological communication.
