Abstract

Animals were the main characters in the famous Satirical English novel Animal farm. Using animal metaphors, George Orwell showed the post-revolutionary Soviet Union as a sham democracy under Stalin and the tragic fate of the benighted masses who blindly followed the government. This paper classified the main characters in the novel, and interpreted the true meaning of animal farm through the specific analysis of each character and the corresponding realistic representative.
