- Abstract
Animated films use techniques to reshape time and make Chinese stories bloom again on the international stage. Based on Hollywood animated films Mulan and Kung Fu Panda, this paper aims to explore the Chinese wisdom reflected in the two films from the perspective of “Three Pillars and Two Floors” of Chinese traditional culture. It analyzes the deep causes behind the Hollywood “Chinese style” audio-visual feast, which include the changes of political patterns, cultural diversity, and the driving force of box office. Through the analysis of Chinese stories in the eyes of Hollywood, constructive suggestions were given to the domestic animated films industry for better telling the true Chinese stories, spreading the Chinese voice, and transforming them into cultural products and cultural concepts so as to attract and affect the audience silently.
