- Abstract
China's family planning policy has been implemented for nearly 40 years, resulting in a large number of families who have lost their independence. The family that has lost independence has gradually become a common and special existence among the socially disadvantaged groups. This paper takes Hexi District of Tianjin as a research area, and deals with the problem of old-age care for the elderly people who lost their only child, the lack of services for the elderly, the difficulty of staying in the old-age institutions, the perfunctory policy of “medical support” and the “family doctor”. In the actual situation, it is proposed that many parties should participate in supplementing the community support methods for the elderly who have lost their only child, set up a special elderly care project for the elderly in the old-age care institutions, and create “family beds” medical care methods in Hexi District of Tianjin to further improve the pension level of the elderly who have lost their only child in Hexi District, Tianjin. Making elderly people who lost their only child feel warm, reduce the worry of them, and create a more stable and harmonious society.
