- Abstract
Analysis and optimization of the stern shaft is of vital importance to the performance of underwater vehicles. This paper analyses the mechanical properties of the stern shaft using finite element analysis. Based on the response surface generated with samples, optimization of the bearing arrangement is considered to minimum the deformation of the shaft.
