Abstract

Rhetoric is a kind of art which deals with how to manipulate language in speech or writing, expressively and vividly. Taking 20 English writings of prepared speech in 2018 “FLTRP Cup” English Public Speaking Contest as the example, the study analyzed the major rhetorical devices adopted by students in their writing. In order to upgrade their application of rhetoric effectively, both the teachers and students need to make efforts to make it happen.
