Abstract

The historical value and important status of historical blocks makes it irreplaceable in cities. In terms of historical and cultural blocks depending on tourism industry, this paper puts forward multi-layered protection strategy of point (individual building), line (traditional lanes) and plane (activity space), and dynamic mode of “small scale, gradualism and microcirculation” to adapt to the requirement of changes, further explore characteristics of historical and cultural blocks, inspire its vitality, and better inherit history and culture of Xi’an.
