- Abstract
There are massive rules and regulations in the NCAA Manual, text and its language is very formal and concise because it belongs to the legal text. This manual is about the National College Athletics Association, which introduces details of the implementation and management rules with a lot of terms and formal vocabularies.
During the process of translating this Manual, the author, based on the legal text and taking the reader into consideration, analyzed the words and sentences to find the accurate expressions and reach the translation purpose of “faith”. The report is divided into five parts. Part II is the introduction, which introduces the source of the translation project and the reason for doing this translation project. Next, it briefly introduces the National College Athletics Association. Part III describes the translation tool SDL Trados and how it helps do the translation work. Part IV analyzes the text and points out the characteristics of the NCAA Manual. Part V summarizes the translator’s personal experience and strategy applied during the translation process.
